Graduate School Options

Accelerated BS HAS (ATMO emphasis) + MS Atmospheric Sciences

A combined Bachelor of Science and Master of Science option for students enrolled in the

  • BS HAS program with emphasis in Meteorology & Atmospheric Sciences OR

  • UA's BS Physics major

You must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 by the end of your junior year (or 90 credits completed). 

You may use up to 12 credit hours--use the same 12 units, also known as "double dipping"--between the UA's bachelor's (BS HAS-ATMO) and the UA's master's (ATMO) degrees.   

 

Five-Year Plan for BS HAS (EHY or ATMO emphasis) + MS Hydrogeology

A combined Bachelor of Science (either EHY or ATMO emphasis) and Master of Science option 

The MS Hydrogeology degree is one-year program (non-thesis). The curriculum is immersive and project-based and was developed in conjunction with industry. See the MS Hydrogeology webpage for more details. 

This new one-year, in-person MS Hydrogeology program at the U of A will prepare you for immediate entry and success in the hydrogeologic profession, which offers numerous job opportunities and competitive starting salaries. Upon completion, you would also have the option to complete a Master's thesis or continue graduate education in the doctoral program. 

The program is uniquely designed to take a holistic approach to understanding and characterizing water beneath the ground. The curriculum merges hydrogeologic concepts with analysis, measurement, and communication skills to address professionally-designed, hands-on projects integrated across all courses.
