Hargis Awards

The Hargis Awards for the first and second best poster presentations at the annual student research symposium, El Día del Agua y la Atmósfera, are sponsored by Hargis+Associates, Inc. and are made to recognize the need for excellence in technical communications. The awards of $1,500 (first place) and $400 (second place) made to HAS students (unless noted otherwise) serve as an incentive for participating students to demonstrate excellence in writing, visual presentation, and oral communication skills in support of their research projects.

Evaluation and selection of the awards is made by a panel selected by HAS Alum, Dr. David Hargis.

The inaugural award was made in 2003.
