World Café
16:00 - 17:00 ~ ENR2 S107
Join us for a dynamic World Café session on "Research to Resilience." From 4:00–5:00 pm, participants will be split into four groups and rotate every 10 minutes to discuss key questions on enhancing resilience to climate change and extreme weather events. This interactive format encourages collaboration and diverse perspectives as we explore research, innovation, and resilience in the atmospheric and hydrological sciences. Your insights will provoke meaningful discussion among dedicated students and field professionals, driving important conversations on resilience.
We’ll explore key questions designed to provoke discussion at the intersection of science, climate predictions, and resilience strategies. Your insights are crucial in shaping the future of our field.
Here are the questions we will explore:
- Which new or understudied research methods or approaches in atmospheric and hydrological sciences can enhance climate resilience, and how can they be integrated into current practices? (Led by Giuseppe Mascaro)
- How can we incorporate uncertainty in climate predictions when developing effective resilience-building policies? (Led by Andrew Bennett)
- How can interdisciplinary research help address both environmental and socio-political challenges to improve resilience? (Led by Neha Gupta)
- How can we create a bipartisan, widely accepted narrative on climate change that focuses on resilience and adaptation? (Led by Erika Gallo)
These questions aim to foster a discussion on the theme of "Research to Resilience," encouraging cross-collaboration to explore how science can improve our capacity to predict, model, and adapt to the impacts of climate change and extreme events in atmospheric and hydrologic sciences.
