El Día, the Annual Student Research Symposium
El Día del Agua y la Atmósfera is the annual student research symposium organized by students in the the Department of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences. The symposium is held every spring and is one of the hallmark events held during EarthWeek, a showcase of student research from all members of the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, including the School of Natural Resources, Arizona Institutes of Resilience, Environmental Science, Geosciences, Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences, Laboratory of Tree Ring Research, and School of Geography and Development.

Legacy and Corporate Awards and Prizes - Past Sponsors and Contributors
Before their merger, both the Atmospheric Sciences and Hydrology and Water Resources departments hosted student-organized research symposium for more than 20 years. During the two departments' merger process in 2016, students from ATMO and HWR held joint oral and poster sessions, a joint round table discussion session, a joint career/professional panel, and the first combined faculty instructor awards ceremony. The day ended with a celebratory small plates/cocktail reception with alumni attending the HWR 50th Anniversary Reunion followed by a pub celebration hosted by the new joint Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences Student Association now known as HASSA.
