Congratulations to Outstanding Senior Sam Dahl!

Congratulations to HASSA president and May 2023 graduate, Sam Dahl, for his selection as this year's HAS Outstanding Senior!

Sam is enrolled in the Accelerated Master's Program with an emphasis in Atmospheric Science and will complete the BS degree portion of his program next week. Over the past several years, he has been researching the role of continental weather systems on hurricane rapid intensification in the Gulf of Mexico with Dr. Eyad Atallah. He has been especially focused on research that informs more accurate prediction of landfalling hurricanes in the Southeast due to its impact on protecting life and property.

After graduation, Sam plans to pursue a summer of leisure and traveling with family and friends before he returns to the department next spring semester to continue his research in the Master's program in Atmospheric Science.
