Laura Condon Among 2020-2021 Outstanding Faculty Awardees
Our warmest congratulations go to HAS Assistant Professor Laura Condon who was recently honored with a 2021 Early Career Scholar Award during the university's inaugural ceremony to recognize recently named Regents Professors, Distinguished Faculty awardees, and National Academy of Science inductees. The ceremony honored the university's "luminary faculty for their spark of lasting contributions in our community, nation, and world." Also honored at the ceremony were HAS alumna Karletta Chief (Diné), who received a 2021 Distinguished Professor Outreach Award, and HAS Joint Professor Joellen Russell, who received a 2021 University Distinguished Professor Award.
Condon was named a 2021 Early Career Scholar for her outstanding contribution to hydrologic research. Condon's research combines physically-based numerical modeling with observations and statistical techniques to evaluate large systems using rigorous quantitative methods. She is the lead PI on the new $5 million NSF-funded project HydroGEN which will allow researchers to build a national platform for hydrologic forecasting.
Congratulations to Laura, Karletta, and Joellen for their outstanding achievements!
