Peter Mock Groundwater Consulting, Inc., President and Principal Geologist; Hydrologist and Environmental ScientistPeter Mock is a consulting scientist based in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Peter is a Registered Geologist and a Professional Hydrologist and conducts studies in hydrology, geology and environmental science. He earned a bachelor's degree with a major in Hydrology (1981) and a doctorate with a major in Hydrology and a minor in Applied Mathematics (1997), both from the the University of Arizona. Between earning his bachelor's and doctoral degrees, Peter worked at the Arizona Department of Water Resources and at CH2M Hill, where he was elected a Key Employee. He started his firm in January 1997 and has now enjoyed 18 years of very challenging work in a variety of projects. He has extensive experience in the collection and interpretation of basic geologic, hydrologic and chemical data. Projects of note include regional simulations of basins in central and southern Arizona, of the carbonate system of southeastern Nevada, and of the N and D Aquifers of northeastern Arizona. He worked extensively on the remedial investigations of several federal superfund sites, including Tucson International Airport, Phoenix-Goodyear Airport, Indian Bend Wash, San Gabriel Valley, Montrose-Del Amo and MCAS El Toro. Peter has also worked on subsidence, artificial recharge, geotechnical and dewatering projects. He has worked for many years on the adjudication of water rights on the Gila River Watershed, was a neutral expert for groundwater modeling on the Guadalupe Oil Field Meditation, and represented an airport in requiring and reviewing remediation of two large jet fuel releases. Peter has spoken at numerous conferences on water resources and environmental science and has given short courses on aquifer test analysis and numerical modeling. His personal activities include Bible study, playing guitar, hiking, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his wife Cathy, family and friends.
