Construction Begins for the Thomas Meixner Memorial Plaza
Last week, you may have noticed the sign on the bike racks in front of the Harshbarger Building indicating that the racks were being moved to the right of the stairs or around the corner of the building. Their relocation marks a new milestone in creation of the Thomas Meixner Memorial Plaza project!
Construction has started for the plaza which is being built in front of our building in memory of our former department head and beloved colleague.
The image above shows the final plans for the plaza. The artwork was created by Dr. Chloe Fandel, a HAS PHD alumna and now Assistant Professor at Carleton College.
The memorial is scheduled to be completed before the winter break and will become a gathering space for our department and others across campus.
Thank you all for your support!
