UA Retains No. 1 Ranking in Water Resources

July 16, 2019

The 2019 Shanghai Rankings of World Universities has been announced, and once again the University of Arizona has been recognized as the world's No. 1 program in water resources! The latest ranking was announced on the UANews.org website. The university earned the same ranking for 2018 which was announced earlier this year.

Subject rankings of more than 1,200 global universities are based on 1) the number of papers authored by an institution in an academic subject, 2) the ratio of citation of papers published to the average citations of papers in the same category, 3) the number of papers published in top journals, 4) the amount of international collaboration, and 5) the total number of staff members who have won significant awards. Shanghai ranks 54 programs in the categories of natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences.

We congratulate all of our UA colleages from the many, many departments and centers on campus whose work focuses on Water, our world's most precious resource!
