Shlomo and Yael Neuman Hydrology Endowment

The Fund is established as a scholarship for graduate students enrolled in the Department of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences in the College of Science at the University of Arizona. The payout shall be utilized and expended for the purpose at the discretion of the Head of the Department of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences or the Head's designee(s).

Eligibility:  Recipients of the Shlomo and Yael Neuman Hydrology Endowment are full-time graduate students pursuing MS and/or PhD degree programs with a major in Hydrology and who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5. Eligible students will have a declared/demonstrated interest in mathematical and/or computational subsurface hydrology as evidenced by (past, current or intended) (a) enrollment and outstanding performance in advanced quantitative courses, such as HWR 503 (Subsurface Fluid Dynamics) and corresponding courses in (or equivalent to) Applied Mathematics, and (b) graduate research with a substantial quantitative component.

Selection Process:  Selection of the recipienst is at the discretion of the Head of the Department of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences or the Head's designee(s).

Selection Criteria & Materials: Full-time graduate student pursuing an MS and/or PHD degree program with a major in Hydrology; minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5; declared/demonstrated interest in mathematical and/or computational subsurface hydrology; graduate research with a substantial quantitative component.

Value & Number:  The scholarship award amount will be determined by payout from the endowment. No more than one award shall be given each academic year. If no qualified candidate is identified, no award will be given that academic year. Award: $5,000. Number: 1 applicant.
