A New Water Whys Sign Highlighting Southern Arizona's Hot Car Danger Now on Display at Tucson International Airport

Congratulations to the Water Whys VIP Team!
The Water Whys VIP (co-led by Dr. Laura Condon and Sara Kobilka) has a new sign up at Tucson International Airport (TIA) in the car rental space!
This sign is part of an ongoing collaboration between Water Whys, the National Weather Service Tucson Office, and TIA to create signs and animations that make visitors more aware of three of southern Arizona's top weather dangers: extreme heat, flash floods from monsoons, and dust storms.
The latest sign (above) warns of the danger of learning small children and animals in cars, even on days that don't seem extremely hot.
More animations, about extreme heat and flash flooding dangers, will be worked on this semester by undergraduate and graduate students in this 1-credit independent study class, held virtually Mondays and Fridays from 9-9:55am.
