The BIO5 Institute is very happy to share that Dr. Laura Meredith has been selected for the 2026 Keating Family Endowed Professorship for Interdisciplinary Research at the BIO5 Institute, starting July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. They will be hosting a ceremony with the Keating Family in October 2026. Gina Compitello, Director of BIO5 Public Affairs, will be in touch with invitations and will also be leading all communications related to this Professorship announcement.
In the letter of award to Laura, Dr. Subbian commented:
"For the selection process, the panel seeks to identify a BIO5 faculty member who thoroughly exemplifies the characteristics of interdisciplinary biosciences research excellence, collegiality, a spirit of mentorship and engagement, and strong communication skills. Your translational work in addressing global challenges related to climate change and ecosystem resilience, your dedication to advancing the transdisciplinary field of ecosystem genomics at the University of Arizona (and beyond), and your extensive contributions towards building capacity and community in areas relevant to BIO5’s mission, together, demonstrate the full set of qualities we are seeking."
