University Distinguished Scholar and HAS Associate Professor Bo Guo recently attended the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Flow and Transport in Permeable Media, held July 19–24 in Les Diablerets, Switzerland, where he gave a plenary talk.

At the conference, he was elected Vice Chair of the 2028 GRC. Together with Eleonora Secchi from ETH Zurich, they will subsequently serve as Chairs of the 2030 conference.

The Flow and Transport in Permeable Media GRC has a long history, dating back to 1973. Held every two years, it has become one of the premier international scientific meetings in the porous media community, bringing together researchers from academia, national laboratories, and industry to discuss emerging and often unpublished research in flow and transport across a broad range of natural and engineered systems.

Many of the previous Chairs are among the most prominent scientists in their field, and Guo was extremely honored to have the opportunity to follow in their footsteps. The conference that he will Co-Chair in 2030 will be held in Les Diablerets, Switzerland.

Guo remarked, "I am very excited to have the opportunity to help lead this conference and contribute to this scientific community."

Congratulations, Bo, for this well deserved honor!
