El Dia Sponsorship

Annual Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences Student Research Symposium

As a member of the hydrology and atmospheric sciences profession and a supporter of water and air science in general, we hope you will make a space in your calendar to attend this wonderful student-centered event to be held on Monday, March 27, 2017.

As most of you know, in July 2016, after more than a year of planning, the Arizona Board of Regents approved the merger of both departments to create the Department of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences.  The research and teaching portfolio of our newly evolved department reflects a new paradigm of integrated atmospheric and hydrologic science.

Today we combine both the historical and existing strengths that have developed within both our departments to build a new foundation upon which to build future research and training needs. Indeed, the ties that bind us go back a long way--more than half a century!

As we mark the beginning of a new department, we hope that you consider sponsoring one of the many El Día activities in honor of your own time spent at the UA, as an undergraduate student, graduate student, visiting research scholar, staff member, or volunteer.  Words cannot express what an impact this event has on our students as they complete their degree programs and begin their professional careers.

At this year’s event you will have the opportunity to hear and meet our outstanding student presenters, as well as catch up with friends, colleagues, and alumni.  Whether your contribution goes to support one of the various El Día activities, or sponsor a significant prize or an award for an outstanding student researcher, your financial contribution is vital to the continued success of El Día del Agua y la Atmósfera.

There are many ways to show your support:

Sponsor an Event - If you choose to sponsor a particular event during El Dia, we will display a sign acknowledging your firm by name and logo for that particular event.  Your firm's name and logo will also be included in the event program, as well as on the Sponsorship Poster during the event.  Here are a few events you may consider:

  • Continental Breakfast
  • Morning Refreshments
  • Lunch
  • Afternoon Refreshments
  • After Event Social

Be a Metal Sponsor - You may choose to make a financial contribution at four different levels:

  • Gold Sponsor - A contribution of $300 or more - Benefits include listing your firm's name and logo in the event program and on the sponsorship poster at the time of the event; two garage parking vouchers, and two complimentary HAS T-shirts

Firm Display Table - In addition to an event or metal sponsorship, you may pay a nominal fee to have your firm reserve a table in the atrium for display or advertisement purposes.

If you are interested in any of these sponsorships, please complete our Sponsorship Form and return to us before March 22, 2017 to ensure that your firm's name and logo are properly displayed and included in all printed materials (program, signage, etc.).

If you would like to discuss the details of a tax deductible* sponsorship, please contact Erma Santander, Administrative Associate, at 520-621-7120 or ermasan@email.arizona.edu.   We look forward to seeing you at the 2017 El Día del Agua y la Atmósfera!  We are deeply grateful for your attendance and continued support of our students.

*NOTE: The tax deductible amount is equivalent to the total sponsorship dollar amount minus the monetary value of the t-shirt(s), $15 per t-shirt, and the parking voucher(s), $12 per voucher.
