Congratulations to Xiquan Dong, Professor of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences, who recently received a new NSF grant for "Evaluating the influences of aerosols on low-level cloud-precipitation properties over land and ocean using ground-based observations and WRF simulations." Dong will begin work on this half million (plus) dollar grant in September 2017 with co-PIs Yuk L. Yung from the California Institute of Technology and Tim Logan from Texas A&M. This study will support Dong's pioneering work on aerosol-cloud-precipitation interactions whose aim is to ascertain the long-term distribution of available water in clouds and precipitation processes and reduce the uncertainties in climate modeling. Congratulations, Professor Dong!
