Congratulations to HAS Joint Professor Adam Showman who was elected an AGU Fellow for the Class of 2019!

Showman is a UArizona Professor at the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory whose work focuses on the dynamics and evolution of planetary atmospheres and interiors, planetary formation and evolution, and theoretical astrophysics. His current research focuses on giant planets--Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and the hundreds of giant planets being detected around other stars. The fundamental goal of his research is to broaden our knowledge of atmospheric dynamics beyond the boundaries from our solar system. Read more about Showman's research here.

Showman joins other HAS Joint Faculty members receiving honors from the American Geophysical Union this year: Valerie Trouet (Willi Dansgaard Award) and Armin Sorooshian (Ascent Award).

Congratulations, Adam, Armin, and Valerie!
